Welcome to the X/Twitter section of your Front Runners Social Media Strategy Workbook! 🐦⚡️
We get it — X (formerly Twitter) can feel like chaos: breaking news, memes, hot takes, trolls, and the occasional brand meltdown. But here’s the secret: amid the noise, there’s strategy — and that’s where you come in.
Whether you’re tweeting for your business, your personal brand, or your creative hustle, this guide will help you understand what works, why it works, and how to make it work for you.
Let’s dive in.
🕵️ Step 1: Build Your Inspiration List
Start by hopping on X and searching for accounts similar to yours — same niche, tone, or audience.
👉 On the first two workbook pages, brain dump:
- Handle (e.g., @bestbakeryever)
- Quick description of what they post
- Total followers
This gives you a juicy list of creators, brands, or influencers to analyze and borrow (smart) inspiration from.
✂️ Step 2: Narrow It Down to 5 Key Accounts
From your list, pick 5 standout accounts to analyze.
✅ One with under 2,000 followers (small but promising)
✅ One with 50k–100k followers (gaining momentum)
✅ One with 1M+ followers (top-tier, viral machine)
This mix gives you a full-spectrum view of what’s working across audience sizes.
🔍 Step 3: Audit Their Profile Like an Expert
For each account, take note of:
- Profile picture — Logo, face, or aesthetic?
- Profile description — What keywords do they use? What vibe are they giving off?
- Following vs. followers — Are they tightly curated or following thousands?
- Overall vibe — Funny, edgy, educational, newsy, personal?
- Premium channel? — Are they offering subscriber-only content? How much are they charging?
This gives you insight into how they position themselves and monetize.
📊 Step 4: Analyze Posting Habits
Scroll back 30 days in their feed.
👉 Count and log:
- Tweets (T) — Text-only
- Videos (V)
- Photos (P)
- Retweets (R)
Add it up and fill in your Total Posts (Last 30 Days) box. This helps you understand their activity level and content mix.
🌟 Step 5: Deep Dive Into Top-Performing Content
No need to analyze every post — just scroll and get a feel for their top 3 most-engaged tweets.
For each, note:
- The tweet itself — What’s the format? (Text, meme, quote, news?)
- Length — Short and snappy or long thread?
- Content type — Educational, entertainment, news, commentary?
- Keywords & hashtags — What’s trending in their space?
- Other notes — Do they use emojis, slang, links, polls?
This step reveals what’s actually driving engagement — and how you can learn from it.
📝 Step 6: Fill Out the Overview Page
Once you’ve audited all 5, head to your Workbook Overview Page and summarize:
- Total posts (30 days)
- Total Text, Videos, Photos, Retweets
- Channel vibe
- Biggest takeaways
This gives you a crystal-clear picture of what’s performing on X right now.
🚀 Step 7: Shape YOUR X/Twitter Strategy
Now it’s time to turn research into action.
👉 Write down your 5 biggest takeaways — maybe it’s:
- Launching a recurring series
- Delivering news in an entertaining way
- Upping your posting consistency
- Using more polls or GIFs
- Creating threaded posts for deeper storytelling
For the visual minds, the workbook includes blank post templates for sketching out tweet ideas, thread structures, or visual layouts.
✅ Step 8: Hit the Checkpoint
Let’s get specific.
- How many posts will you create over the next 30 days?
- What’s your mix: Text (T), Videos (V), Photos (P), Retweets (R)?
- What’s your overall vibe?
- What’s going in your profile description?
- What content programs or series will you test?
And don’t skip the four blank boxes where you can brainstorm updates to:
- Brand identity
- Tone
- Voice
- Target audience
Because building a strong X presence isn’t just about posting — it’s about owning your space.
💡 Final Word
